HONOR GUARD REQUEST FOR COLUMBUS DAY PARADE

Please see the following message from our Worthy Master Ty Simmons regarding the upcoming Columbus Day Parade! (Columbus Day weekend events flyer is attached):

Worthies All:

Since 1952, Columbus Day has been a generations-old celebration honoring the Chicagoland Italian American Community.

The Joint Civic Committee of Italian American (JCCIA) welcomes the Knights of Columbus to join in their celebration of the 72nd Annual Columbus Day Parade, on Monday, October 14, 2024, on State Street in Chicago.

The day begins at 9AM with a mass at The Shrine of Our Lady of Pompeii, 1244 Lexington Avenue, Chicago.

Immediately following mass, there will be a reverent procession 1 block west in Arrigo Park for a wreath-laying ceremony, at 10:30AM, honoring Italian American war veterans.

Then board the busses to the parade opening ceremonies at 11:45 PM on the corner of State Street and Wacker Drive, after which, the parade will then commence south to Van Buren Street at 12:30PM. ABC7 will be broadcasting the parade live, and live-streaming on abc7chicago.com

Reboard busses to return to Arrigo Park and at 3PM gather for a reception at Casa Italia Festival Center,1621 N 39th Ave., Stone Park, for post-parade entertainment and delicious Italian food. All Free of Charge.

This invitation has been graciously extended to all Knights. If you do not yet have the 4th Degree uniform, join us in your assembly or council shirts.

Please reserve the date of Monday, October 14, I would like to see as many brother Knights participate as possible to stand up for our Catholic faith in the public sphere.
