10th Annual Blue Mass Service
To honor and celebrate our
Emergency 1st Responders
( Bloomingdale, IL ) – St. Isidore Parish will celebrate a 10th annual “Blue Mass” on
Sunday September 8th, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Isidore Church, 427 Army Trail
Road, Bloomingdale, IL 60108. Honor Guard Show Up Time 9:30 AM
All police, firefighters, Sheriff’s deputies, emergency medical technicians and rescue
workers of all faiths, as well as the general public are invited to attend. All first
responders will have a special place to sit in church during the Mass.
The Blue Mass takes its name from the blue uniforms worn by police, fire and
emergency services personnel. The Blue Mass also serves as a remembrance for all
the first responders who died during the September 11, 2001 attacks in New York,
Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C.
The Knights of Columbus regard as heroes the public safety personnel who literally
put their lives on the line in service to the people in their communities every day. The
church service honors the men and women who devote their lives to serving their
communities as police officers, firefighters and emergency medical responders.
This year’s Blue Mass is sponsored by the Knights of Columbus Father John Guiney
Council 8522. Bloomingdale, IL.
Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus will serve as an honor guard.
Light refreshments and a luncheon will be served following the Mass in the St.
Isidore Ministry Center adjacent to St. Isidore Church.
