SUMMARY:Joliet American Legion Band needs help to getting veterans to concert at Matano Veterans Home
DESCRIPTION:Hello Brother Knights\, \nWe have received a request from the Joliet American Legion band\, asking if the Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree could provide assistance for a Band Concert at the Manteno Veterans Home\, Manteno\, IL on Sunday March 23\,2025.  Your time commitment on-site would be approximately 2-2.5 hours (1:30pm-3:30 / 4:00pm). The concert itself will last about 1-1.5 hours\, and they are asking if we can come slightly early to bring the veterans to the auditorium and help return them back to their rooms following the concert (just like we do for the BBQ & Bingo). \nThe Joliet American Legion Band (Post 1080). Is an award-winning National Champion Band that performs numerous Patriotic Concerts every year. They are requesting if we could get a minimum of 5 Brother Knight’s to assist\, it would be a great help. \nOriginally there was some talk about us Posting Colors\, but due to logistics and other issues we have decided to only help with giving assistance to these great veterans of our Nation. The American Legion Band is aware that we support the Veterans Home via annual BBQ & Bingo events every year. As the Patriotic arm of the Knights of Columbus it would be a great honor for us the help. \nUniforms would not be required\, but it would be recommended to wear some type of KOFC Assembly or Council attire like a Polo Shirt\, etc. As Commanders\, neither myself or Kevin Fischer can make the date because we will both be out of town\, at different locations.  I am hoping someone can step up and champion this event.
